NCCARE360 Expedites Network Availability Across the State

NC DHHS is expediting the ramp up of NCCARE360 in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting increased and urgent needs of North Carolinians.  NCCARE360 is a statewide network of health care and human service organizations.  It was initiated by NC DHHS as one strategy to address those Social Determinants of Health that can play a critical role in the successful outcomes of an individual’s health care and human services.   Although it is often attached to the Healthy Opportunities Pilot within Medicaid Transformation, NCCARE360 is a stand-alone referral platform that can operate in the current and future health care and human service system in North Carolina.  NCCARE360 is not exclusive to Medicaid beneficiaries and can be used to assist any North Carolinian in need of community support services.

On April 6th, NC DHHS announced that it would be expedite the rollout of NCCARE360 into each of the 100 counties in North Carolina.  It is currently operational in 55 counties, and the intent was to ramp up the remaining 45 counties over the course of the year with all counties being included by the end of 2020.  Now, any organization can register in NCCARE360 to serve as a referral resource for individuals across the State. To participate, applicants must complete a registration form and agree to participate in a software training.
