2020 Conference Call for Presentation Form

CONFERENCE DECEMBER 2-4, 2020

The i2i Center is taking the Pinehurst Conference virtual for 2020!  A virtual event has numerous benefits – no limit on attendance, attendee access to ALL sessions, virtual networking, interactive exhibits and more.  We believe a virtual event has the potential to greatly expand participation, particularly in the current environment, and will give presenters a robust platform.  The i2i Center’s December conference has a 20+ year history and traditionally offers presenters and their organizations exposure to 1,000 leaders and professionals representing private and public healthcare payers, MH/IDD/SUD and physical health providers, State agencies, advocates, consumer and family members and other stakeholders.

There are national trends in healthcare, including in MH/IDD/SUD services, that are becoming the standard of practice.  Federal expectations for value-based contracting that balances service quality and cost require higher business acuity and better technology.  In North Carolina, there continues to be movement towards Medicaid managed care, and its implementation will likely impact every aspect of public services over the next several years.  i2i is focused on supporting implementation and innovation in the evolving system that will improve whole person, integrated care in physical, behavioral health, and I-DD services while also addressing the new world we find ourselves as we grapple with the impact of a pandemic.

How the Virtual Conference Sessions will work:

  • To ensure success and prevent technical difficulties during the conference, all chosen presentations must be pre-recorded and submitted to i2i in final format.  Presenters are free to use a platform of their choice (i.e., Zoom, WebX, Microsoft Teams and others).
  • Sessions will still be interactive in that presenters will host their sessions, can poll audiences during presentations, and can answer questions live during sessions.

We are seeking 1.5 hour main topic session proposals and 1 hour Sparking Innovation submissions.  All proposals should aim to address policy issues and implications, services, consumer involvement, and/or administrative aspects of any of the topic areas below.  We are also seeking presentations that incorporate lessons learned during COVID-19 that can and should become a permanent part of systems, programs, or services moving forward.

WE ARE SEEKING PROPOSALS ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

  • Improvements in administrative operations or services that advance whole person care in and outside of a managed care environment (ex: payment structures, performance measures, outcomes, demonstration of value, etc.)
  • Technological advancements that improve individual care and/or organizational management (ex: telehealth, electronic health records, digital transformation, consumer self-management technology, cyber security, etc.)
  • Innovations to improve consumer outcomes, participation and/or access to care (ex: self-advocacy initiatives, cross-system linkages, community inclusion, employment, recovery, expanding the use of peer support services).
  • Clinical and Other Topics: Innovation in the treatment of opioid addiction, foster care, collaborations across healthcare systems/professionals, veterans care, unmet health-related needs, and whole person care.
  • Specialty Topics: Workforce Issues (including diversification), the Stepping Up initiative, Treatment Services for Young Adults Exiting the Justice System (Raise the Age), Evaluating Continuity of Care as a Critical Component of Integrated Care.
