30trillium health resources new i2i champion

(October 9, 2018) Trillium Health Resources is now a high level Champion Supporter for the i2i Center for Integrative Health. The mission of the i2i Center is to foster collaborative and evidence-based initiatives for improving the quality and efficacy of the behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use care and support services systems within a comprehensive system of whole person care. The i2i Center does this by: convening stakeholders; strategizing solutions and activating change.

i2i Executive Director Mary Hooper says, “We are very excited to welcome Trillium as our newest i2i Champion Supporter. Trillium is at the forefront of service innovation and community investment in North Carolina, and its leadership team makes access to service a priority. Leza Wainwright is an exemplary leader for the Trillium staff, and I am honored that she serves as a member of the i2i Board. We are so pleased to count Trillium Health Resources as an i2i Champion.

Trillium covers 26 counties in eastern North Carolina, making it the largest geographic region among the state’s seven managed care organizations (LME/MCO) that oversee services for individuals with substance use, mental illness and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Trillium maintains close relationships with members, providers, and local government officials and agencies in the territory it serves. Trillium implements innovative practices to meet the needs of members through technology, such as a complex care coordination software platform and assistive devices that allow members to live more independently.

“Trillium has dedicated much advanced planning to prepare ourselves for the changes expected with Medicaid Transformation and our evolution to an integrated Tailored Plan,” stated Leza Wainwright, CEO of Trillium. “We are excited about the future of behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disability services in NC and look forward to working together with the i2i Center to help influence and implement many of the successes and improvements to come.”

The i2i Center has won several grants and begun a number of projects since its inception in January 2018, these include: the I’m IN Community Inclusion Initiative, a new effort to promote community inclusion for individuals with mental illness. The Cross-Systems GPS: Guiding People & Systems initiative that will develop recommendations for the NC DHHS about how individuals with I/DD and their families can best be supported to effectively navigate across various service systems (cross-system navigation) as DHHS moves toward implementation of Medicaid Transformation. We also have two Value Based payment projects, one is a Policy Collaborative working to solve issues around value based purchasing between LME/MCOs and Providers in NC and a grant that will expand value-based care practices and payment strategies for public safety net providers—both behavioral health and primary health—through state learning & action collaboratives, engaging with local stakeholders, and advancing policy. Finally, i2i is getting ready for its largest conference of the year, Visionary Voices – December 5-7, 2018 in Pinehurst, NC.
