Nuts and Bolts of Behavioral Health & I-DD for Legislators

The General Assembly is very involved in the plan to move Medicaid healthcare to managed care. The goal of the plan is to create an integrated care system, but it’s complicated and still in process.

As a legislator, you need to be ready to give informed opinions on services for people with behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders when decisions are being made.

This event will refresh legislators on the important basics of the current structure of NC’s public BH/IDD system and how it will change under the new proposal.

Legislators will also be provided with key terminology and become familiar with the differences between Medicaid and State funded services. Get prepared for Medicaid budget decisions you’ll be making in the 2018 Session. Join us!
